Tosin Oke will compete in the Olympic triple jump final on Thursday after advancing from the qualifying stages this morning.
The Woodford Green with Essex Ladies competitor finished fifth in Group A at the Olympic Stadium, with 16.83m being enough to see him through.
Representing Nigeria, Oke finished ahead of British competitor Phillips Idowu, who posted 16.53m but was unable to advance to the final, meaning there will be no Team GB representation on Thursday.
Twelve athletes will compete again with Oke recording the ninth biggest jump overall in today’s qualifying.
