Eton Manor Under-14s' disappointing start to their rugby season continued with a convincing 59-0 home defeat to Upper Clapton.
Despite several influential players still missing from their squad, Manor started positively with early counter attacks causing problems for Upper Clapton.
Fine breaks from Finn O'Donnell and Harry Keeling put Clapton under pressure, but a lack of support runners enabled the visitors' defence to hold firm.
Clapton then scored two tries to go into half time 14-0 up.
Manor started the second half brightly with Keeling causing problems with his surging runs but Manor were unable to break the gain line and despite their opponents losing a man to a red card for retaliation, Manor still couldn't find a way through.
After losing Keeling through injury Manor started to crumble under pressure and went on to concede several tries with little resistance.
The Under-14s are always looking for new players. For detals call Barry Poulter on 07428677550.
