Leyton Orient’s FA Cup first round tie against Gloucester City this afternoon has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The match was due to be played at Cheltenham Town’s Whaddon Road ground but heavy rain made the surface unplayable.
Referee Steve Rushton took the decision just before midday and O’s chief executive Matt Porter tweeted: “Whether here awful this morning. Ref had no choice – parts of the pitch completely unplayable and still raining.
“Hope most of the fans who were travelling hadn’t got too far – no suggestion of this last night, only rained this morning and still doing so.
“Details of re-arranged game to follow, will advise on our website asap. Another midweek games beckons, what a surprise!”
