The Os beat Shrewsbury 2-1 on Saturday to get back to winning ways, with two vital goals from Kevin Lisbie, one of which was a dead cert penalty, to send the Brisbane faithful into a frenzy.
The result was massive for both sides, for us it ended a run of four straight defeats, and a goal drought that produced only one goal in seven previous league outings.
For the Shrews, it heaped more misery on a side that had yet to win away and the O's win leaves them one off the foot of the table.
The game was largely entertaining, the play was end to end with both sides showing a will to win but it was Orient's dogged persistance that paid off first when Moses Odubajo was fouled in the box by Jeremy Helan.
The ref had no hesitation and duly pointed to the spot for Lisbie to roll his first half penalty into the net sending Shrews keeper Chris Weale to dive the wrong way.
In the second half it was Jon Taylor who popped up to equalise with a long hard low drive just outside the box into the far corner of the O's goal for his first goal of the season.
As the game moved at a pace it looked more and more likely to finish in a draw, when two minutes from time Dean Cox deliverd a sweeping corner for Lisbie to head home at close range - for the O's it was three vital points.
The players are putting in a great effort and the perfomances have been good - it's the final finishing which we got right with the return of Kevin Lisbie. He was missed and he sets a good example to our younger forwards as does Ben Chorley in defence.
Our re-arranged FA Cup first round tie away to Gloucester was due to be played last night. What's certain is the winners play Alfreton Town away in the second round so without tempting fate if we are sucessful it's a nice route to the third round.
The Orient youngsters under youth team manager Andy Edwards have taken their own cup route for they are in action in the second round of the FA Youth Cup against Aldershot at the Matchroom Stadium on Thursday night with a 7.30pm kick off.
The O's progressed in the first round beating Stotfield Under-18s 7-1 in front of a crowd of 192.
The prize for Thursday's winners is a third round tie against East London rivals West Ham so lets get down the Brisbane and support the Orient future starlets.
They're also going well in the Fooball League Youth Alliance Division and are currently top so something to shout about there.
Next up - Carlisle United - it's that horrible long trip up north that separates the men from the boys.
You need stamina and that's just for the ride. If we get our preperation right we should do the buisness.
Up the Os.
