Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade felt his side made hard work of their 3-2 win at Portsmouth.

The O's secured their fourth consecutive victory after a brace from Kevin Lisbie and a Moses Odubajo effort. But Orient had countless more opportunites to score and Pompey almost punished them with a spirited fightback. 

Slade said: "It's another fabulous result away from home in the scheme of things. I just don't think it should have been left for a nervy last 15 minutes. It was an entertaining game for sure but we didn't need it to be so entertaining. We should have been home and dry. 

"We had chances galore. I just thought we needed to be that little bit more ruthless. When we were in that losing spell no-one felt sorry for us. People just rammed it home and rammed it down our throats and we had to take it on the chin.

"That's what I've asked for from my team. When we've got our foot on somebody's throat we don't let it off. We finish them off like we did against Carlisle. But as I say, in the scheme of things it was a really good result, a great performance again from Lisbie up front and all round to be honest I thought there were some outstanding performances."
