Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade has paid tribute to his players for turning their season around with four consecutive wins.
The O’s were looking over their shoulders a fortnight ago after four defeats in a row but three League One victories and progress in the FA Cup has breathed new life into their campaign.
The latest success came in a dramatic 3-2 win at Portsmouth on Tuesday night and the Orient boss heaped praise on his team.
Slade said: “Four games in 11 days and we’ve won the lot. It’s a credit to the players. It’s a big turnaround and it’s what we needed. It’s what we were seeking. When we were going through those rough times I didn’t think we were miles away. I thought we were inches away and it just shows what a fine line it is.
“When you're playing on a Wednesday, with all the travelling we’ve done and playing away at Carlisle on the Saturday, to come here on Tuesday with all those games, four in 11 days, the lads deserve a lot of credit. It’s another fabulous result away from home in the scheme of things.”
