Orient boss Russell Slade believes Yeovil Town are an example of what can be achieved on a small budget after they upset the odds to win the League One play-offs.
Gary Johnson’s side were not expected to be in contention for promotion at the start of the campaign but the O’s boss believes they are an example of what a club with a small budget can achieve.
Slade said: “Yeovil have shown what is possible and that is the dream which we all have so great credit to them.
“They managed to pull it off and that’s what we are all trying to do. It’s another thing to try and stay in the Championship but you have to take your hat off to them.
“Not many people fancied them to go up at the start of the season so it gives everyone hope.”
Slade attended the LMA Dinner in London on Monday night and the event was unsurprisingly dominated by the retirement of Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
He commented: “Sir Alex will be missed. He is like the godfather of managers. Whenever a manager loses their job he is often the first to send a text or give you a call.”
