Sam Ling is confident Leyton Orient will continue their unbeaten run when they take on Boreham Wood at Meadow Park this lunchtime.
Having drawn 0-0 with Aldershot Town the O’s, who have lost one National League game all season, returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Gateshead last time out.
They go into the game with Wood sitting at the summit of the table with a single point advantage over Salford City.
With Wood lying 11th, Orient are the clear favourites ahead of kick-off and Ling is confident they can get a good result, despite acknowledging there are no easy games at National League level.
“We take it game by game and we know we can go there and get three points so that is what we have got to do,” Ling said.
“Any team in this league is a tough game. There’s no easy fixtures whatsoever. We’ll go there knowing that they can damage us but we can also damage them.
“We’re confident that we can go there and get three points.”
Saturday’s win over Gateshead marked the opening game of the always congested month of December in perfect fashion.
Including the game against Boreham Wood, Orient will play five more times before the month is out with meetings against Beaconsfield Town, Chesterfield. Dagenham & Redbridge and Oldham Athletic also on the horizon before 2019 dawns.
Far from viewing the hectic festive period as a test, Ling is eager to make the most of the chance to play regularly as he continues to make his return to full fitness.
“I am a bit rusty and I haven’t trained very much over the past month and a half,” the defender said.
“There’s always plenty of games over the December period and it is my goal to stay fit, stay injury free, stay on the pitch and get as many minutes as I can to progress.”
