Colchester United 1
Leyton Orient 1
(Puma Football League Youth Alliance South East Conference)
STUNNING strikes from Loick Pires and Harry Baker gave Orient's youth team a 2-1 victory over Colchester United on Saturday.
The O's needed to show good character to come from behind in the last quarter of the game.
They had started slowly and relied on goalkeeper Daniel Bygrave to keep them in the contest early on.
But they soon found their feet and began to assert themselves in the first half.
However, they were dealt a blow midway through the second half when Colchester's Josh Oakley gave them the lead.
Orient bounced back immediately, with Pires beating a couple of men before drilling into the net.
The Londoners weren't finished yet, and Baker gave them all three points with an excellent volley from 18 yards.
Orient: Daniel Bygrave; Daryl Sydes, Elliott Babbs (Brandon Martin 10), Frankie Webb, Tom Kemp; Harry Baker, Solomon Shields, Scott Grange, Loick Pires; Adam Bolle (Adam Marsh 70), Bradley Gray
