ORIENT manager Martin Ling is confident that victories this week against Huddersfield and Swindon could reignite their play-off hopes.
After conceding a last-minute penalty at Brighton in last weekend's 1-1 draw, the O's sit just two points off sixth place Tranmere.
And while disappointed with that result Ling is confident his troops can secure their first back-to-back wins since September against two teams they have already take four points off this season.
He said: "That last minute goal at Brighton has damaged us, and there have been a few this year that have cost us points.
"But we've got a big week ahead of us now with two home games and a couple of wins in a week would probably be enough to put you into the play-off places.
"I can't see everyone that is pushing for those last couple of spots securing two wins from their games this week, so it is vital that we make the most of having two home games.
"We will certainly be looking to beat two sides who are below us in the table and who we've taken four points off this season.
"At Huddersfield we put in an excellent performance to come away with a 1-0 win, while it was another one of those last-minute goals that saw us draw 1-1 at Swindon when we had been the better team.
"But while we will be confident of picking up a couple of results we have been saying since September about getting back-to-back wins and it hasn't happened."
Ling was however handed an easy scouting mission at Swindon on Tuesday night, in a match they secured a 3-2 win over Huddersfield in.
He added: "It was handy the way the fixtures worked that me and Dean Smith were able to go and watch our next couple of opponents and hopefully that will help give us an edge in these games."
The Orient boss will certainly be without Tamika Mkandawire (hernia) for these games and will have to assess fellow centre half Sam Oji (hamstring) as the week progresses after he limped off against Brighton on Saturday.
