ORIENT winger JJ Melligan was fearing another defeat at half time against Swindon last night before the O's firmly got their play-off push back on track write James Randall The former Cheltenham midfielder, who provided the cross for Adam Boyd second and match winning goal told the Guardian how important last night's 2-1 win was.
He said: "It was a great result, I was fearing the worst when they scored a lucky goal, but we came back well and showed what we can do in the second half."
And the 26-year-old was also happy to help come up with the answers being asked by manager Martin Ling, as the O's trailed 1-0 at the interval following Alton Thelwell's unfortunate own goal.
He continued: "The gaffer just asked us the question, can we show what were made of, and I think we did that in the first twenty minutes of the second half."
With a local derby with Milwall at the weekend, former Wolves trainee Melligan wants to play another staring role, after being left out of the O's starting line-up recently.
He continued: "Every game we get now we want a result, every game I start now is a bonus, hopefully I can get a few in until the end of the season."
