GARY Alexander is "gutted" he wont get a chance to gun down former club Orient this weekend.
The Millwall frontman suffered a nasty cut on his shin during the Lions mid-week victory over Yeovil, that will see him sit out Saturday's London derby at the New Den.
And the 28-year-old former West Ham trainee claims he is disappointed that he will be forced to watch from the stands.
He said: "Of course I'm gutted because you always want to play and do well against one of your old teams, as well as hopefully get a goal.
"It is typical though that I get injured the match before we play Orient, because it was a game I was really looking forward to playing in.
"That is part and parcel of football though, and I just hope whoever comes in for me does a good job."
With Millwall still hovering dangerously above the relegation places despite excellent back-to-back away wins at Swansea and Yeovil, and Orient still in the play-off frame Alexander is expecting the atmosphere at the Den to be cranked right up.
He continued: "London derbies always generate great atmospheres to play in, but with both clubs still having something to play for this season then I'm sure it will be even better than normal."
The former Hull striker is also fully aware that the Lions will be keen to avoid a repeat of the O's 5-2 victory at the Den last season, in which he scored in while wearing the red of Orient.
He continued: "We still need to pick up points to ensure our safety. We've got six in our last two games and we want to get a lot more on the board before the end of the season so that we finish as high up the table as possible.
"It would also be nice to get revenge on Orient for doing the double over us last season, by doing the same to them following our 1-0 win at their place earlier in the season."
But while Alexander would like to see Millwall dent the O's play-off hopes on Saturday, he would still like to think they will have a chance of promotion success this season.
He added: "I've still got a lot of good friends at Orient including Dean Smith and Martin Ling and you always want to see your mates do well, so hopefully they can be successful."
