WAYNE Gray believes the next two games could go a long way into deciding Orient's play-off chances.
The former Wimbledon frontman, who scored the winner at Millwall on Saturday to send the O's level on points with sixth placed Walsall - believes the back-to-back games against Carlisle and Cheltenham over the Easter weekend could propel them firmly into the promotion mix.
And 27-year-old Gray feels that manager Martin Ling's decision to return the east Londoners formation back to the one that took them to the top of the table for much of the early part of the season, has been a key factor in their recent success.
He said: "At the moment while we've not played as well as we were at the start of the season, the main thing is we are getting results again.
"I think the gaffer changing the team back to what it was when we were doing well has also worked. Sean Thornton is now back in central midfield and JJ Melligan has returned to the wing, where he has put in the crosses for the last couple of winners.
"The confidence in the camp is back now and you can see that hunger in peoples' eyes to go out there and win promotion.
"We have got eight games left now and as long as we keep picking up results then we will have a great chance of making the play-off's. The next two games coming up could be the most important in our season.
"If we can come away with a two positive results we would be right in the mix and would hopefully take a bit of the pressure off in some of the other games."
And having experienced successful promotions with former club Southend and made it through to the play-off finals with Yeovil last year, Gray is certainly better placed than most in the Brisbane Road camp to know what it takes to go up.He continued: "Fortuna- tely for the last three seasons I've always had something to play for.
"During that time I secured two promotions with Southend and made it to Wembley last year with Yeovil.
"Even though we lost that game it was a fantastic experience to play in a stadium like that, and I believe we've got the talent in our squad to make that possible again."
