STRIKER Efe Echanomi has urged Martin Ling to let him save both his and Orient's season over the coming weeks.
The 21-year-old, who missed all of last season with a broken leg has struggled to make an impact this term.
But the Nigerian-born frontman (above) who has managed one goal from his two starts this season believes he can help the faltering O's turn around their fortunes in the final six matches.
He said: "In some of the games lately we've come close to getting a result, but have just lacked scoring at times.
"I know that if I'm given a decent chance and run in the team I can help in that area, but it is up to the manager to give me that opportunity.
"I would love to show him what I can do and to repay him and the fans for sticking by me when I was injured, because it meant a lot to me at the time.
"Hopefully maybe now the manager might give me one more opportunity even if it is only as a sub.
"I still hope that I can help the club achieve something special here."
And Echanomi is fully aware that time is not only running out on Orient's season, but his own future at the club.
He said: "Nothing has been talked about to me regarding a new contract, and that is up to the manager.
"I would love to stay here and that is the reason I've not really looked to go out on loan, but we will just have to see what happens now."
