The campaign ended on neither on high nor a low at Brisbane Road as Orient took a point from this typical end-of-season match.
Orient pulled themselves together and Dean Morgan equalised in the second half after Huddersfield had taken a first half lead through veteran Andy Booth, who scored his 150th career goal. It could be Morgan's last act as an Orient player as he is due to return to Luton this summer.
His goal came from a rare penetrative attack by the hosts, who spent large swathes of the game on the back foot.
This may have been the final game of the campaign and the holiday's are beckoning, but there was no rest for Orient's back line in the first half.
McGleish and Wayne Gray up front were starved of possession as Huddersfield enjoyed the lion's share of possession and chances. Simon Church who scored in last weekend's defeat to Millwall was nowhere to be found on the pitch or bench.
Danny Cadamarteri posed a threat down the flank throughout this sin-kissed encounter at Brisbane Road..
He restricted Charlie Daniel's forays up-field, but the midfielder who has been playing at left back for the O's looked good when he broke up the other end.
Veteran Andy Booth was desperate for 150th goal in his last ever game shoved Jamie Jones and ball over line on 8 minutes in. No goal.
Booth did get to the milestone on 24 minutes, thanks to a defensive blunder by Orient. Jimmy Smith headed back to goal over Orient's defensive line which forced Jones to rush out to meet the on-rushing Booth. He made his experience count by rounding the young keeper and slotting it home.
Throughout this end of season game each side struggled to turn possession into penetration.
But Orient did just that for their 64th minute equaliser. Jimmy Smith ran onto a looping long ball by Daniels and played a square ball low across the box under Andy Holdsworth which Morgan tucked away.
Late on, Daniels sent a daisy cutter shot fizzing past the post as Huddersfield ran out of gas and possibly willpower.
