It's nice to have avoided relegation in an up and down season. We'll take it as a team, I'll take it as an individual and we'll look to build next season.
Now, I'm looking forward to a break. You work hard all season, and this is when you can repair your body and get a lot of rest, because in two months we'll be starting all over again Monday was a massive day. It's not nice to see fellow team-mates departing the club. It's sad. I think some of it might have been due to the budget, rather than them not being in the gaffer's plans. What with the credit crunch, it could get even tighter. I'm gutted that some have to leave, but that's part and parcel of football.
I got on really well with Paul Terry. He started a lot of the banter and kept morale up. If we'd lost at the weekend Paul would always be able to put a smile back on the lads' faces. But Paul lives quite close to me, so we shouldn't become strangers.
I should get on Facebook, I guess.
And I got my summer fitness programme on Monday too. I joked that I thought we were meant to be resting! But it looks very good and you'll come back very fit if you stick to it. I do my own fitness work and I'll keep to the programme too, and hopefully it'll work out well.
Looking back now at the season, I'd say my Swindon goal was my personal best. It was a mix of the occasion and technique too. I try shots a lot of the time and they don't usually come off, so I was very chuffed with that.
Boydy's (Adam Boyd) goal against Crewe was the best strike I saw this season. It was from so far out. As our top scorer for two seasons, he'll be hard to replace.
We tried out the new kit on Saturday and I think it looks good. I don't know what the socks are all about, though, there's definitely a spiderman influence in their design. We asked the kit man what he had been up to.
But the new black away kit looks decent, and the strip is also well ventilated, so you don't sweat so much. And they work too, because it was piping hot on Saturday.
Well, I'm off to enjoy a couple of holidays, followed by lots of circuits, which I'm trying not to think about at the moment!
Enjoy the summer and I'll see you O's fans next season.
