ADRIAN Patulea opened his Orient account with a goal at Billericay, earlier this week.

His strikes could be vital to the O's during the season ahead.

A lack of goals last time dragged the club into the League One relegation zone.

But after Tuesday's 5-4 win in the Essex town, Patulea told the Guardian that goals is what he is all about.

“I'm delighted to have put the ball in the net in my first game” he said. “Strikers are only on the field to make that happen. Simple.

“I think we are capable of scoring from any position, that is the potential that us strikers here have. I hope we'll do that in the proper games.

The Romanian joined from League Two Lincoln City and said that confidence is vital in his position.

He said he was satisfied with the display.

“Tonight, the forwards put pressure on the defenders and we saw the advantages of that when they got sloppy and we got the goals we needed. All of us strikers are here to do a good job for the team.”

He spoke of his joy at playing for Orient.

“I was having a good season at Lincoln, but the gaffer gave me the chance to come here and now I'm delighted to be able to give all I have here.”
