RYAN Jarvis wants to be Orient's main man up front this season, and not the forgotten man he became during the last campaign.

The 23 year-old scored just two goals last season, when he joined the O's from Norwich City after a fruitful loan spell.

Instead, he spent long periods watching games from the sidelines.

But now he has equalled that small tally already, with the brace he hit against Billericay last week.

“Things didn't go right for me after I came to Orient from Norwich, but I've put it all behind me and forgotten about it,” he said.

“I'm looking forwards and, hopefully, this season ahead will be a good one. I cant wait, to be honest.”

A groin strain forced him to miss Tuesday's game against Ebbsfleet, and the Kildare match in Ireland before it.

Jarvis told the Guardian it is not a problem.

“I'm confident I'll be fine and back for the season ahead.”

This season he will line up alongside Scott McGleish and new hitmen James Scowcroft and Adrian Patulea.

“I'm looking forward to playing with two experienced strikers like Scott and James. I think they're both typical strikers and the type that I like to play alongside. Both are good in the air and help things along. I think they complement my game very well."

He continued: "I've not set too many goals.

“I'm going to take every game as it comes. The most important thing is to score goals.

“The team can definitely go places under Geraint Williams. He showed what he can do in the few months last season. He's brought in a few new faces and I think we look pretty good so far.

"He's got what it takes to move this club forward.”
