ORIENT suffered a 2-0 defeat to non-league St Albans, last night (Thursday).
Geraint Williams’ started the match with three youngsters in the line-up, alongside a strong selection of regular first teamers.
The match featured an ex-O in action for St Albans. Solomon Shields was released by the club this summer.
Adrian Patulea spurned an early chance at close range from Jason Demetriou’s cross.
Loick Pires went close with a free kick which hit the cross-bar.
The Blue Square South side went ahead on 22 minutes through Gary Cohen when he dispatched a shot low past Glenn Morris into the bottom corner.
The host’s extended their lead on the half-hour mark when Adam Everitt had all the space he needed to deliver a cross for O'Donoghue, who converted at the back post.
Later, Luke Ashworth felt he should have been awarded a penalty.
Now, Orient prepare to play Dagenham and Redbridge at Victoria Road, this Saturday.
