CAPTAIN Stephen Purches is to undergo surgery on a fractured cheekbone this week.
Orient’s skipper sustained the injury during the 2-1 defeat at Stockport last Saturday, in a clash with Hatters defender Michael Rose.
It means the 29 year-old faces an extended spell out of first team action.
Andrew Cave-Brown is likely to deputise in his place at right-back.
The 21 year-old came on in Purches’ place at Edgeley Park.
