LEYTON ORIENT have parted ways with Sean Thornton.

But will the O’s miss the mercurial Irishman now he’s gone?

The creative midfielder is gone after three years at Brisbane Road to be nearer to family in northern England.

During his time at Brisbane Road, Thornton was often the fulcrum of the midfield attack.

Cool and calm with the ball, he had the eye for the killer pass and the talent to do the unexpected.

But Thornton was one of cohort of players at the club from 2007, and there has been no progress in League One for the club in that time.

Boss Russell Slade is now poised to remould the team into a gritty and resilient unit.
