EX-ORIENT striker James Scowcroft is close to finding a new club, deep in non-league football.
The 34 year-old turned out for Bury Town this week, who play three divisions below League Two, in the Ryman Premier division.
Scowcroft played 45 minutes of a friendly match against Biggleswade Town, which ended 1-1. He did not find the net.
Scowcroft was brought to Orient in the summer of 2009 by ex-boss Geraint Williams, and was top earner at the League One club.
But despite that status he failed to score a goal in a competitive game, struggled for match-fitness, and ultimately became a symbol for all that went wrong with Williams' tenure at the club.
