JASON BROWN will be sorry to bid farewell to Orient when his loan spell finishes after the Plymouth Argyle home game this Saturday.

The 28-year-old will return to a Premier League Blackburn Rovers side in shock, after the manager was sacked last weekend.

But he said he wants to extend his stay at Orient to play more matches.

Brown has dazzled and baffled in equal measure during an eventful month at the Matchroom Stadium.

His love of dribbling the ball around opponents left some fans with their heads in their hands at Peterborough United.

But his superb display at Tranmere Rovers last weekend showed him to be stopper of substance.

That unpredictability has added spice to games during his stay.

It is what he shares with the ‘Él Loco’ keepers from Latin America who are famous for their extravagant style.

“Obviously I’ve conceded some goals but sometimes you can't keep them all out,” Brown told Guardian Series Sport.

“I do like to think I’ve brought something to the team in terms of my experience and knowledge.

“If I can keep churning out the performances, then who knows what can happen.”

The player has made clear what he does not want to happen.

He is against a move back to Lancashire yet.

“If there was to be the question of extending the loan spell then there’s no doubt I would do it at the drop of a hat,” he said.

Brown revealed his frustration at playing next to no football at Ewood Park this season, branding it 'tough'.

“The gaffer (Russell Slade) has been great to bring me here.

“It’s difficult when you don’t play much in pre-season as I have done.

“If Blackburn Rovers had played me in pre-season I would already be at full sharpness. But I didn’t.

“I came here (to Orient) because I wanted to play football.

"I’m catching up now. I feel sharp.

“I said to the gaffer that I feel I’m starting to get my match fitness now.”

Slade praised Brown for his top performance last weekend.

“Good keepers make saves at the crucial times. He must have made four crucial saves (at Tranmere) and it keeps you in the driving seat.”

However, it is now not certain that Brown can stay, for two reasons.

O’s keeper Jamie Jones this week returned to action after a month-long lay-off for a hernia operation.

The ex-first choice stopper is set to battle Lee Butcher for a place on the substitutes’ bench at Brown’s final game on Saturday.

Brown might then decide to pack his bags and dash home to impress the new regime at Rovers.

But until then, the focus is on getting three points from struggling Argyle.

“If I’m playing next week, hopefully I can put in another half-decent performance and go out on a high,” said Brown.

“We’ve got Plymouth on Saturday and hopefully we can go into that game and get a good result.”
