ADRIAN Patulea exited Leyton Orient ruing “I never got the chance to impress.”
The Count’s contract was torn up last week, with six months still left to go.
He told Guardian Series Sport of his frustration at being a forgotten forward under boss Russell Slade.
“The gaffer told me about technical and tactical issues and that I was not part of his plans,” said Patulea.
“This is football and this happens. I have to take it on board.
“I was not happy because I was there for one-and-a-half years, but I was not getting the chances to prove myself.
“My one disappointment was not having that chance to prove myself to the Orient fans.”
Three goals in 22 games since arriving during summer 2009 is not a return Patulea will be happy with.
The man from Romania who piggy-backed his way to fame with a bizarre training exercise has an appetite for goals.
He always got into great positions and looked a threat, but he was also hampered by a less well-developed awareness of team-mates.
League One football is still his goal, insisted Patulea.
“I’ve been waiting for a few clubs to get back to me by the end of the month.
“We may see that I cannot cope with League One, but I do not think that. I want to achieve the highest I can.”
