I will be bitterly disappointed if we don’t make the play-offs this season.
Us players will need to take a long look at ourselves to have let that slip.
I want to play in the Championship and I’ve made that clear. So I certainly do not want for this campaign to dribble out.
That’s why I think the Southampton game can define our campaign.
It will be our last chance, so we have to go out and give it our all on Saturday.
I’ve spoken out in the past few weeks after some fans booed us at home, but in the main they’ve been awesome.
Now we need them more than ever as we push to break into the play-offs.
I fully expect Southampton to be occupying that second automatic spot come the end of the season.
But we can show why we have got up into contention for a play-off spot at home.
Make no mistake, our rivals in the play-off places are where they are because they have got the biggest budgets in League One.
Bournemouth are the exception, but they have all been together for so long.
We could do with some more luck as well. We were all baffled about why Jimmy Smith’s goal was ruled out at Charlton.
I was appealing to the referee on the pitch and he said: "If I am wrong then I will call you and apologise." Well, I’m still waiting for the phone call!
