Jimmy Smith is unlikely to play again this season for Orient.

The midfielder has suspected knee ligament damage, from last weekend’s defeat to Southampton.

He played no part in last night’s goalless draw with Carlisle.

Boss Russell Slade revealed the news.

“I fear Jimmy’s season could be over,” he reported.

“He’s probably damaged some ligaments in his knee.”

It is another late blow to Orient’s play-off push, after Smith’s goals helped fuel the surge up League One.
