PROUD O’s fans must keep on giving their vital support to the team in the fight for a play-off place, boss Russell Slade has said.
The appeal came as Slade hailed a never-say-die attitude which could yet help Orient to push aside Bournemouth and move into sixth in League One.
A small but hardy band of loyal supporters made the 1,400 mile round trip to Brunton Park on Monday, to see Jonathan Téhoué’s 36th minute strike seal three more precious points.
“We’ve got Tranmere on Saturday and then Plymouth. No games are easy and we can get beaten by anyone. But the never-say-die attitude is superb and that’s why we can beat anyone," said Slade.
“They (the players) are great to work with and we stick together as a group to work hard for the cause to get us into that top six.
“Everyone is pulling in the same direction at this club. When we got beat 5-1 by Yeovil (in March) the fans never stopped clapping.
“We all wrote that result off as a group because we had to bounce back, and we have done. Hopefully every O fan is proud of what’s happened.”
