Russell Slade feels Wycombe’s third goal last night killed his team off as Orient slipped to a third successive league defeat.
The O’s fell behind in the opening exchanges to a Ben Strevens header but hit back through Dean Cox after 15 minutes.
An immediate reply from Wycombe’s Scott Donnelly saw the hosts trail at the break and Joel Grant’s early second half header saw them fall to defeat.
Despite going behind early on, the O’s manager was pleased with the football his side played at that stage, pointing in particular to the move which saw Cox equalise.
Slade said: “It was the best move of the game really to be honest. We were just starting to play some really enterprising football.
“We played at a tempo where we were just starting to open Wycombe up to be honest. Even at 2-1 I thought the game was very much on.
“I thought the killer really was the third goal just after half time where we have missed a header, we have missed a tackle, the cross has come in and we have not been close enough again to stop the header.”
Slade will look to pick his side up as they go in search of their first points when they visit Brentford on Saturday.
