O’s manager Russell Slade believes yesterday’s 5-0 score line was not a true reflection of the game but accepts his side conceded some poor goals.
Orient slipped to a fourth successive league defeat on Saturday, a result that keeps them bottom of the table having yet to post a point on the board.
Slade’s side fell behind early on but Lee Butcher’s goal was not breached again until early in the second half when Uwe Rösler’s Brentford went goal crazy.
Despite trailing at the break the visitors enjoyed the better of the first half, creating a host of chances before ultimately losing out.
Slade commented after the game: “It’s staggering that we have lost the game 5-0.
“I think you can say for sure that flattered them but at the same time we conceded some poor goals and I don’t want to hide behind that.
“I was really disappointed with how we capitulated. Having said that I don’t think it was a free kick I have to say. I have looked at it on the DVD for the second one but he’s taken it well, it’s 2-0 and it’s given us a mountain to climb.
“To be fair, right now, we are a little bit fragile and certainly not good enough to climb that mountain at the minute.”
