Having taken a deserved second half lead, Orient’s inability to keep the ball well enough on the day ultimately cost them, according to manager Russell Slade.

The O’s had shown the greater attacking intent in the game but after opening the scoring, Slade said his side did not keep the ball well enough.

The Orient boss went through a DVD of the second half with his side immediately after the game as they look to correct the errors that crept in today.

Defeat means the O’s remain pointless at the foot of League One and will travel to Chesterfield next weekend still searching for their first win.

Slade said: “I thought for 60 minutes to be honest even though it was a tight game we were in control. We got the goal and I thought we deserved the goal.

“Then there were three or four minutes after that - we were ok as soon as we scored - but for the last 25 minutes we have turned the ball over and that is what we have just been looking at – ridiculously poor.

“We have not kept it well enough. We have not had the authority on the ball that we should have had when we had gone in front.”
