The football season might have finished for Leyton Orient but there will still be some action in E10 as the fifth Dale Jacobs Memorial Trophy will be held at Score Sports Centre.
The match between Leyton Orient Fans Trust and Leyton Orientear has been held annually as part of a series of events to raise money in memory of O’s fan Dale Jacobs.
Dale was a season ticket holder in the South Stand at Brisbane Road but passed away in 2008 following a battle with cancer aged 26.
Now in their fifth year of events, the Dale Jacobs Memorial Fund have raised more than £35k so far, with fans earlier this season walking to the away match at Charlton Athletic in support of the cause.
Saturday will see the charity match held alongside an auction and raffle to raise money for St. Mark’s Hospital, London, and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Doors will open at the Supporters’ Club in the West Stand on Oliver Road at 12pm with the match kicking off at Score at 1pm.
The family event will also have face painters, stalls and a fire engine on display.
The auction will begin at 4pm with a number of excellent items up for grabs, including a pair of signed Lee Butcher gloves as well as signed boots from Jimmy Smith and Dean Cox.
Advanced bids are being taken on the lots for those unable to attend Saturday’s event. Bids should be sent to anna@dalejacobsfund.com.
The raffle will be held in the evening at the Birkbeck Tavern, Langthorne Road, E11, where there will also be a live band.
