Orient boss Russell Slade could cast his eye over George Saunders, Joe Turner and Martin Rowlands again tomorrow after the trio all featured at Sutton United on Wednesday.

The trialists were all part of the O’s second half XI at Gander Green Lane and Slade could hand them a second opportunity to impress against Ebbsfleet United.

Asked if the trio could feature again, the manager replied: “Possibly yes. “I don’t think they did themselves any harm and to look further would probably be the right thing to do rather than judge them on 45 minutes when we have trained all day.”

A busy week of transfer activity in E10 saw four new faces recruited to the Orient squad, doubling the number of summer signings brought in by Slade.

The manager revealed he was happy with the group he has put together but added he hasn’t necessarily closed off the route into Brisbane Road just yet.

He continued: “Obviously if there is anything else to be done it may require a little bit of wheeling and dealing but I am really happy with the acquisitions. There are eight in total.

“It doesn’t mean you stop looking but I feel as if I can go into battle with the group I am starting to get together now so that is encouraging."
