Chingford beat Shenfield by 20 runs thanks to impressive batting high up the order.
Daniel Lawrence scored 78, while Ben MacGregor (27), Andrew Joslin (10) and Shaun Eaton (57) all added runs early on as Chingford eventually finished on 231.
Shenfield made a valiant effort in reply but good bowling, particularly from Lawrence (three for 18) ensured Chingford sealed the win.
Chingford are at home to Brentwood on Saturday.
Wanstead & Snaresbrook started a disappointing weekend with a two-wicket defeat to South Woodford.
Wanstead struggled with the bat, scoring 121 all out, with Kishen Velani finishing on 23, while Arfan Akram (19) and Joe Ellis-Grewal (18) both made solid starts but couldn’t go any further.
Woodford’s James Malin bowled superbly to take five wickets for 31 runs.
Woodford looked on course for a comfortable victory after good batting contributions from Ashley Leat (37), Max Shirt (21) and Kevin Sargent (20).
Three blanks in a row and four wickets from Zain Shahzad however set up a nervy finish but Woodford edged home with two wickets to spare.
Wanstead host Chelmsford in the league on Saturday before another home game against Colchester and East Essex in the National Club Championship on Sunday. South Woodford face Ilford.
Buckhurst Hill lost to Ilford at home by seven wickets.
The hosts were put into bat but apart from Jamie Allen’s 57 and Hendro Puchert’s 31, nobody settled into the crease.
Ilford meanwhile, were more comfortable as Sufian Munir’s unbeaten 72 ensured victory.
Buckhurst are away to Shenfield on Saturday.
