Anwar’s 141 carried Loughton to 236 for five after their 52 overs. Daniel Gymer (26) and Ben Notley-Griffiths (20) played valuable supporting roles.
Fives’ figures, in contrast, were more evenly spread as a handful of batsmen made solid scores. Steven Doig (75) was the best of them but Greg Summers (34), Dan Scoulding (32) and Meraj Mustanser (43) also helped the hosts to victory.
Loughton’s Lewis Scott was unlucky to be on the losing side after he finished with five for 34.
Fives Seconds are away to Hutton on Saturday, while Loughton Seconds are away to Buckhurst Hill.
Buckhurst Hill Seconds beat Hadleigh & Thundersley Seconds by two wickets.
Bowling first, Buckhurst’s Darren Ironside (four for 40) and Daniel Platt (three for 53) restricted Hadleigh to 189 for eight at the finish.
Buckhurst started poorly and were 47 for six at one stage but some composed batting from Platt (22), Rob Petchey (66 not out) and Daniel Isaacs (30 not out) steered the visitors to victory.
Buckhurst Hill Seconds are at home to Loughton Seconds in their next match on Saturday.
Second XI Division Two
West Essex Seconds lost by 62 runs to Southend on Sea & EMT.
After winning the toss, West Essex decided to put their opponents into bat but the opposition eased their way to 229 for five. Murad Ali finished with two for 33.

Old Southendian reached the target for the loss of seven wickets in 42.5 overs. Jagjit Singh took four for 53 and Raza Ali claimed two for 24 in the away defeat.
Old Parkonians Seconds lost to Harlow Town by 39 runs.
Batting first, Harlow did well to combat the conditions, thanks largely to Bilal Ali’s 50, although Victor Yatheesh produced another fine bowling performance to take six for 55.
Ridwaan Shaikh also chipped in with two for 28 in eight overs and Prashant Bist was tidy with one for 20 in seven. When Harlow were all out for 164, this looked a total that could be chased down.
In response, Old Parkonians struggled from the off. Opening partners Shane Vamadevan (12) and Alan Bouquet resisted for a time but then only skipper Amit Kalley (24), and later order batting from Prashant Bist (38) and Ridwaan Shaikh (15), threw any doubt in the equation as they were all out for 125.
