Crostyx ladies drew 2-2 in a tight game against Potters Bar in East Women’s Hockey League Division C on Saturday.
Crostyx got off to a poor start, conceding a goal within the first ten minutes but they gradually found their rhythm and came back into the game.
Missing key defenders, Chloe Pollock slotted in well alongside Anna Feldman and Laura Beaton and quick movement of the ball at the back led to some well-executed attacks down the right-hand side.
Ciara Newell won several short corners and one of these was converted, with Alys Hackett neatly placing the ball in the back of the net to open the scoring before half-time.
In the second half, Hackett notched her second of the contest, again from a well-organised short corner.
Potters Bar weren’t finished yet however and drew level for a second time after a fast counter-attack.
Crostyx pushed forward in search of a winner late on but were unable to find a breakthrough and the game ended in a draw.
Crostyx men endured a miserable afternoon against Harleston Magpies, losing 6-0 away from home in East Men’s Hockey League Premier B.
