Redbridge let slip the opportunity to overtake their opponents and go third in the Ryman North table as the Motormen were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Thurrock on Saturday.
The result means the Motormen stay fifth, only two points behind second-placed Witham Town albeit having played four games more.
The game’s two goals came within a minute of each other as Daniel Smith put Redbridge ahead at the end of the first half before Bradley Warner equalised for Thurrock immediately after.
Neither team were able to score a winner in the second period and Redbridge boss Dave Ross admitted he was disappointed not to take all three points.
“Over 90 minutes it was probably a fair result but I’m a bit disappointed because I thought we could have nicked it in the end,” he told the club website.
“It’s good because we’ve only lost one in nine now but three points would have put us in second or third and even higher up the league.”
Redbridge’s scheduled match against Burnham Ramblers on Tuesday night was postponed and will now be played on Tuesday, December 3.
The Motormen travel to fellow promotion challengers Witham Town on Saturday.
Waltham Forest picked up a useful point away at Tilbury after a 1-1 draw but remain rooted to the bottom of the table.
Piers Wixon gave Tilbury the lead just before half-time but Chinedu McKenzie equalised for the Stags in the 73rd minute with a powerful effort that beat the keeper at the near post.
In the last quarter of an hour it was Forest who looked the more likely winners and Richard Worrell had two opportunities late on to seal victory but the chances went begging.
Forest are away at Harlow Town on Saturday.
In the battle of sixth against seventh, Waltham Abbey and Maldon & Tiptree played out a goalless draw.
The result, which means Abbey remain a point behind their opponents, was overshadowed by a serious injury to Abbotts keeper Matt Gill.
The match was stopped for more than an hour as Gill receive treatment after a collision with a Tiptree forward in the first half and the Abbey stopper was taken to hospital.
Gill was given the all-clear on Sunday however and returned home.
