An East London Runners duo completed the New York Marathon on Sunday with both crossing the line after breaking the four-hour barrier.
Ciaran Canavan’s excellent time of 2.50.16 saw him finish 283rd in the Big Apple, while Tom Woods finished in 3.59 which was just over six minutes slower than his time in Chicago three weeks previous.
On home soil Patrick Brown led the way at Walthamstow 5km, finishing second in a time of 19.03, while Richard Guest came ninth in 21.58.
At the Wanstead Flats 5km, Euan Brown ended in pole position with a time of 17.32, while Thomas Grimes (19.24) and Gavin Stebbing (20.11) came fifth and ninth respectively.
