Philip Bowes missed out on the vacant Southern Area Super Lightweight belt for the second time after suffering a points defeat by Johnny Coyle on Saturday.
The 30-year-old (9-2) from Leytonstone had previously missed out on the strap against Joe Hughes in October but was unable to mark his return to the ring with victory.
Bowes took the Prizefighter champion (9-0-1) the full ten rounds – the first time Coyle has gone further than eight – but could not overcome the southpaw at York Hall.
