Woodford Wells youngster Viraj Gandhi has been selected for Essex CCC's Emerging Players Programme, capping an unforgettable season.
As a result the 14-year-old will now receive six hours' worth of coaching per week through the winter which will include fitness and tactical work with the club's coaches.
Gandhi has enjoyed a memorable season which began by competing at the All School Under-16 Arch Trophy in Dubai with New Hall.
Named Player of the Tour, the teenager returned home for the English season and represented his school as well as taking part in a weekend tour of Devon and featuring in National Cup matches for the school's Under-14 and Under-15 sides.
He won the County Cup with both age groups and will next season compete at the Lords Tavern national Under-15 competition with the chance to play at home of English cricket.
Gandhi also enjoyed success with Wells, reaching the Peter Coe Cup semi-finals, taking six wickets.
