DOG RACING
WITH the excitement of the Arc out of the way normal service resumes with an excellent card of open racing at Walthamstow tonight.
The top division stayers looks like producing a close contests in race 11.
Seamus Cahill's Big Brett Coal (pictured) in one will be hoping to make the most of a good draw in one to return to winning ways.
The home raider suffered a narrow short head defeat to Droopys Nelson at the east London track on Arc finals night last Tuesday.
Prior to that he had secured a win at Romford and will be looking to improve on his best recent time of 39.31secs at the Stow.
Grand Prix finalist Discreet Cat in four has been five spots faster during a recent performance at the Chingford Road track, although Mark Wallis' wide runner doesn't have the best of draws.
Another close to call contest follows in race 12 Division One standard.
Westmead Kewell in one has been in good form at Henlow and Monmore and has a good previous record at the Stow.
Nick Savva's Henlow raider should also make the most of a good draw to secure victory, although will be pushed all the way by Mystical Haka in three.
Paul Garland's home star has been in good form winning his last two A1's at Walthamstow.
Noirs Denis in six also won an A1 last month and shouldn't be overlooked.
While 2007 Arc finalist Vipar Totti in four is always hard to beat around the four bends at the Stow.
Prior to both these races is a great looking Division Two stayers contest in race seven.
Grand Prix finalist Butterbridge Ali in six has secured a good draw and will take some beating.
Wallis' Imperial Kennel's charge's best recent time of 36.67secs isn't the quickest of the field though.
Droopys Kan Kan in four has had a 39.50secs around the six bends at Walthamstow recently, although Stacey Baggs' raiders last victory came in a marathon contest.
Ceroc Gypsy in three secured an S1 victory at home track Romford last week, and has always been well backed at the Stow where he has recorded a recent 39.66secs in a stayers contest.
