JUDO
YOUNG members of Redbridge Judo Club produced impressive displays at the North West Banded Competition.
Held in St Helens, it is a ranking event for the national squad.
Reece Sandy won gold in the under 38 kilos category, where Ryan Hahn finished fifth.
Charlotte Wraith also claimed a gold medal in the U44 kilos section.
In the U50 kilos event, Ramazan Karamov took silver in the class.
Meanwhile, in the U48 kilo division Abbie Cole took bronze, and Stephanie Hahn secured fifth place.
Larissa Gately earned himself a bronze in the U52 kilo rankings The U57 kilo group saw more medal success, with Sophie Sandy won gold, and Lara Ashley took the third podium spot.
Coach Steve Sandy said: "This was a fantastic result because these kids have only been doing Judo for a few months and it was their first competition."
