SWIMMING
THE London Borough of Redbridge Swimming Club had another successful weekend at the Essex Championships, setting event best times, national qualifying times and personal best times.
Ivan Georgiev showed his dominance in the 14-year age group by winning five gold medals in the 100m fly, 200IM, 400m free, 200m fly and the 100m free with an event best time. He also gained a bronze in the 100m back.
Chris Inch showed his dominance in the 15-year age group winning the 100m fly (NQT), 200 IM, 400 free (NQT) and 200m fly. He also gained second in the 100m free and fourth in the 100m breast, both with personal best (PB) times.
Emily Cole won the 200m and 400m free, 400IM and 100IM in the 13-year age group, and also gained second place in the 200m fly and sixth in the 100m breast.
In the over-16 age group, Phoebe Hayes set a NQT in the 400m free, finishing first. Hayes also finished first in the 200m free and second in the 400IM with best times.
Lucy Warner won the girls' 13-year 100m breast, was second in the 400IM and third in the 400m free. She was also fourth in the 100IM and set a PB in the 200m free.
Charlie Dentith set PBs in all his events, winning the 400m free and 200IM, coming second in the 200m fly, and fifth in the 100m free, back and fly.
Sophie Copper swam PBs to finish second in the 100IM, third in the 400IM and 200m fly, fifth in the 100m breast and 200m free, and sixth in the 400m free.
Ben Hollis swam a PB in the 100m fly, finishing third and fourth in the 100m free, but had to withdraw from the competition due to illness.
Lawrence Brown swam a great race to finish second in the 400m free and sixth in the 200IM. He also set PBs in the 100m free and back.
Anna Keble swam really well finishing fourth in the 200m free and sixth in the 100IM. She also set another PB in the 400m free.
Cris Worby set a PB in the 100m breast, finishing second, and he also set a two-second PB to finish sixth in the 200m fly. Worby also set PBs in the 100m free and 200IM.
Lauren Rouffe swam a great 400m free to finish sixth and also a fast 200m free.
Johanna Lindblom set a five-second PB in the 200m free, finishing sixth, and a four-second PB in the 400m event.
Kenneth Man swam an excellent 400m free finishing fifth, and also a big PB in the 200IM to finish sixth.
Tom Beadle had a great weekend finishing fifth in the 100m fly and sixth in the 400m free. Beadle also set best times in the 200IM, 100m free and 100m back.
Adam Gillard finished sixth in the 400m free and also set best times in the 100m fly and 200IM.
Alex Hayman set a PB in the 100m fly, but had to withdraw from the competition due to illness.
Sadie Lucas achieved sixth positin in the 100m breast and also set PBs in the 400IM, 100IM and 200m fly.
Grace Wingrove set huge PBs in the 400IM, 200IM and 200m back.
Grace Gillard swam really well setting PBs in the 100m breast and 100IM.
Samuel Kelly swam well setiing best times in the 200IM and 400m free.
Fraser Scott set a PB in the 200IM.
Mia Newton achieved a ten-second PB in the 200m back.
Ellen Scott (100m breast and 200m free) and Craig Moate (400m free and 200m fly) were just outside of their lifetime best.
