Ipswich 1
Old Loughtonians 1
(SEHL Premier) OLD Loughtonians ladies put on an inspired performance to earn an away point against a talented Ipswich team.
Resolute defending served Loughts well against an opposition littered with international players.
And they took the lead in the 37th minute when Miranda Week's outstretched stick turned a fierce cross into the back of the net.
Ispwich touched in an equaliser shortly after the half time interval when a bouncing free hit just caught Lisa King's stick in the circle to deflect the ball past the defenders.
Both sides pushed to claim the extra two points but neither could create a clear enough opportunity.
Loughts need to win their remaining three games - starting at home to Chelmsford on Saturday - to stand any chance of securing a play-off spot.
