EPPING FOOTBALL ROUNDUP
BUCKHURST Hill recorded their fourth straight victory and moved upto third in the Herts County Senior League division one table with a 4-1 demolition of Allenburys Sports.
Luke Murphy got the ball rolling in the 24th minute from 12 yards and Rob David doubled the lead five minutes later with an opportunist effort from a defensive mistake.
Creag Lawrence then scored a top corner, 25-yard screamer on 35 minutes to give the hosts a commading advantage.
Allenburys pulled on back with a wind-assisted 40-yard strike by Andrew Cartright but Chris Bishop made it safe from 12 yards with 15 minutes to play.
Boss Phil Hernon was happy with the result, if not the performance.
He said: "We didn't play very well in difficult conditions. But a win is a win and it keeps the momentum going."
Hill are at home to Mill End Sports on Saturday.
It took a last gasp header from Leon Townley to spare Debden Sports' blushes as they won 3-2 at bottom side Bedwell Rangers.
After a goalless first half, Debden took a two-goal lead thanks to goals from Steve Ochiltree and James Lee-Legon and looked to be in complete control.
Bedwell though, forced two efforts in the last ten minutes to pull it level and looked on course to steal an unlikely point.
But, with the last play of the game, Townley nodded in an Andrew Sheers cross from close range to seal the points.
Boss Graham Smith said: "It would have been a real banana-skin had we dropped points at Bedwell.
"We kept going and finally made our pressure count, so full credit to the lads."
Debden are at home to Hinton on Saturday.
Epping took a step closer to ensuring they will be playing Essex Olympian League Premier Division football next season after a 1-1 home draw with title-chasing Takeley.
A closely-fought first hour saw the teams cancel each other out until the visitors took the lead when Chris Bullock fired home at the second attempt.
But Epping nicked a point with just three minutes to go as Lee Forde meet the ball from six yards out to head home.
Epping boss Mark Well said: "I was very impressed with the players, who have shown more belief and determination in the last month that they can get something out of each game."
Epping are at home to Mountnessing on Saturday.
Ongar Town lost ground on the Essex Olympian League Division One leaders after a 3-3 home draw with Faces FC.
A Ben Polley brace and another from Paul Hughes saw the hosts lead 3-2 with just a minute remaining.
But Faces capitalised on poor marking to snatch a late point.
Ongar are away to Roydon on Saturday.
Loughton suffered a 2-1 home defeat against Hatfield Heath in Bishop's Stortford, Stansted and District League.
Heath took a first half lead before Damien Murretti equalised for Loughton after the break.
But the visitors grabbed a winner with only 12 minutes to go.
Loughton are away to leaders Alemite Athletic in the premier division cup semi-final on Saturday.
