WALTHAMSTOW handler Mark Wallis moved back to the top of the Trainers' Championship after Genesis Dream landed the £5,000 Spring Festival Stayers' final at Monmore on Friday.

Following hot on the heels of Wallis' first-ever Arc success recently at the Stow with Centaur Decree, the Imperial Kennels handler has built up a good lead at the top of the current Trainers' Championship standings.

That has come thanks to Genesis Dream producing her career-best performance with a scintillating burst of early pace that eventually led to her scoring a cosy one-and-a-quarter lengths victory in a fast 38.06secs to take the honours.

A delighted Wallis said: "This little black bitch is like a pocket rocket and has a real big heart, as she showed holding off a decent field.

"She looks a real prospect for the big staying races in the summer like the Grand Prix."

And a triumphant Genesis Dream will make a quick return to action on home soil at Walthamstow tomorrow(Thursday).

Drawn well in two Wallis' bitch should keep up her winning run in Division Two of the stayers.

Down as race four on the night, the Imperial Kennels charge should have the early pace to break clear of the field and certainly has the stamina to see the job through.

Droopys Majella in three will likely pose the main danger, although Seamus Cahill's railer who won last week at the Chingford Road track in 40.01secs will have to fly out of the boxes to counteract a poor draw.

There is a good-looking hurdles contest directly after in race five.

Cahill's Springbok winner and early Grand National favourite Hotdog Jack will attract a lot of the smart money, although doesn't have the best of draws in three.

However that shouldn't prevent him from securing a third straight win on home soil, where he recorded a blistering 29.17secs on his last outing at the Chingford Road track.

Lodge Mentor in two will probably pose the main danger, although Steven Willey's raider will vastly have to improve on his Division Two hurdles winning time of 29.41secs from last week to stand a chance.

HOT TIPS It was another poor week for our tipsters with only one correct verdict recorded each.

But Guardian Angel and Mark Your Card will believe they can return to form with their latest selections from tonight's card.
