SWIMMING

STRONG swims from Gators' most experienced swimmer and their up and coming youngsters brought home a handful of medals from the Essex County Championships.

Daniel Fogg - who will be representing Great Britain at the Open Water World Championships in May - made it a hat trick of golds in the 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 200 Individual Medley.

Nine-year-old Amrita Robertson continued dominating her age group by taking gold in the 200mIM and the 200m backstroke, both in championship best times (CBT).

Other gold medals were won by Arjun Robertson, 11, for the 200mIM in a CBT, and 12-year-old Elizabeth Hare in the 400m freestyle.

Following hard on the heels of Robertson was Chloe Pate, 9, who took silver in both the 200mIM and the 200m backstroke, giving the Gators top positions in both races.

Rachel Leong, 16, picked up two silvers for the 200m and 400m freestyles, while bronze medals went to Tommy Willis, 11 (400m free), Elliott Hill, 14 (400m free), Chelsi Willis, 14 (200m free), Nicola Farmer, 17 (400IM) and Emma Hasler, 12 (200m butterfly).

Borough of Waltham Forest Swimming Club members placed in their finals, earning valuable points in the club competition were, Arjun Robertson, Rian Pate, Eris Crawford, Chelsi Willis, Nicola Farmer, Elizabeth Hare, Rachel Leong, Elliott Hill, Tommy Willis and Sanaa Akbar.
