WALTHAMSTOW Athletic Club member Nick Shasha has gained a place in the Great Britain age-group team for the European Duathlon Championship after completing a tough national race at Clumber Country Park, Nottinghamshire.
The 33-year-old ended the day in 12th place in his age group against a nationwide field and will now be off to Greece on May 24.
The Clumber park course consisted of a tough multi-terrain 10km run, three-lap 40km bike ride through the park and finished with a 5km run.
Shasha said: "Qualifying is a great motivation forme to and I'm looking to place well inmyfirst race in GB colours."
He is now looking for local sponsors to help with the cost of a new bike, kit and travel to the event.
