Leyton 0
Ramsgate 3

(Ryman Premier) AS has been the way for much of this season, Leyton put up a brave fight but ended up on the end of a heavy defeat.

The Lilywhites were not helped against high flying Ramsgate by the 27th minute dismissal of classy keeper Sam Tanner.

The young stopper received a straight red card for voilent conduct towards Rams' Stuart Vahid, leaving substitute Jack Dallender to take over in the net.

Andrew Thomas was also given his marching orders late in the match for a second bookable offence but by then Ramsgate were already two goals to the good and in command of the match.

The visitors got off to the best possible start when Lee Minshull opened the scoring after just two minutes with a stooping header.

John Bricknell almost forced an equaliser for Leyton soon after with a shot that clipped the post.

But the Rams' pressure began to tell and it was no surprise when Nick Davis doubled the lead on 33 minutes with a strong header.

Skipper Des Thomas forced Rams keeper Shaun Allison into a fine stop with a 20-yard free kick on 69 minutes, but the second sending off soon after effectively put the game out of reach.

Dean Hill wrapped up the points for Rams with a close range effort ten minutes from time.

Things got rapidly worse for the young Liliywhites on Easter Monday as they slumped to a 9-0 defeat at play-off chasing AFC Hornchurch.

Harry Elmes, who opened the scoring on two minutes, and Simon Parker both helped themselves to a hat trick, while Jim McFarlane, Elliot Styles and Jamie Richards also found the net.

Plucky Leyton suffered a late collapse as Urchins ran in five goals in the remaining 22 minutes, which takes the Lilywhites' conceded league goals record this season past the 100 mark.

They are at home to second bottom Carshalton Athletic on Saturday.
