EPPING Cricket Club will gear up for the new season with the visit of a German national team.
The Lower Bury Lane outfit will swing back into action on Saturday April 19 with an away friendly at Hockerill.
The following weekend Epping kick off their League Cup campaign against Benfleet.
But it is the visit of the German national team in the run-up to the May bank holiday weekend that is creating excitement.
Epping will be playing a 50-over game against Germany on Friday, May 2 at 11am.
The Essex League Three side will also welcome home former Epping star James Eggleston as part of the German team.
Reflecting on the fixture Epping skipper Geoff Maynard said: "A game like this is very rare at our level of cricket and it is thanks largely to James that we've been able to set this match up.
"It will be great preparation for our league season, because they are a quality side and everyone at the club is really looking forward to the fixture."
