LAKESIDE Hammers are waiting on a fitness update of riders Andreas Jonsson and Leigh Lanham who were involved in a crash in heat 11 at Belle Vue last night.
Jonsson suffered nail damage, a possible broken finger and a swollen wrist and flew back to his native Sweden this morning for an examination.
Before flying out, he said: "My right wrist is aching but I can move it so I hope it's just bruised and not broken.
"I had an operation on this wrist some time ago, so that may be why it's aching."
Lanham received bruising and grazes to both shoulders and knees and felt very sore after the incident but the early signs are that nothing was broken.
The club is hoping he can give some indication as to whether he will be fit enough to return to the side.
It is a busy time for the Hammers as they are due to race in their final Craven Shield group match at Peterborough on Thursday evening.
On the Friday the Hammers have their opening home Sky Sports Elite League match at their Arena Essex Raceway against the Swindon Robins.
In addition, Jonsson is due to partner Hammers captain Adam Shields in the Elite League Best Pairs at King's Lynn on Saturday.
